Just $1 for Haiti
How often do we waste a dollar? Leave it in a pants pocket to get washed, AND dried, lose it in our car, buy a drink from a vending machine.... you get my drift? I am as guilty, if not more, as everyone out there-but I can tell you right now-that one dollar can go a long way in another country right now. I'm sure all of you have heard about it by now-the devastating earthquake that trembled Haiti on January12, 2010. The devastation is so massive-it's unfathomable-they can't even put numbers on it yet-numbers of the dead, injured, missing, orphaned-those are things almost all of us can't even begin to imagine having to deal with. I wrote here about two men from our church who went to Haiti last year, to help with buying medicine for children in the hospital, food for families and trying to figure out the best way to get clean drinking water to thousands of people who need it desperately. One of those gentlemen has a Charity that raises money for Haitians. Here's the link-http://www.just1dollar4haiti.org/
This is a legitimate Charity-started by one of the men at TLC Church in Woodstock. He and several others visit Haiti at least once a year and were already working on ways to get clean drinking water to more people. Just that alone can decrease the number of deaths among the Haitian citizens-but now it is more important than ever. We know that money given through this organization goes DIRECTLY to those in need in Haiti. Please read more of what he says~
This website is an easy way for people to get involved in the Haiti relief effort and 100% of the money goes where they want it to, directly to where it will make the most difference. Our board is completely voluntary and there is no staff that receives any compensation. All donations go straight to the projects they are allotted to. They can also receive earthquake updates on this site directly from real Haitians in Haiti.
I implore you-search your car, your old coat pockets, your old purses, and old wallets, anywhere-get those dollars and send them now to those who need them so desperately!!! You won't be sorry you did!
Much love in our AMAZING Lord~
Rhonda
