Getting a thump on the head~
God never fails to reach down a lovingly "thump" me on the head when I am having a bad day, to remind me that "my" bad day, would be a good one for someone else. What do I mean by that you ask? Well-just as I was bemoaning having a sinus headache for the 3rd day in a row, my longtime friend of 34 years called to tell me her mom is having emergency surgery today; it could take 15 minutes, or 6 hours; it could be fairly easy, or somewhat complicated. I quickly snapped back to reality-the reality being I have it so easy compared to others in my life right now. My 81 year old mother is recovering from a broken hip, and my sister (who is her caregiver) decided to move her home from rehab-so she can get better care, and more one-on-one attention. My mother has Alzheimer's disease, and is still very fortunate in that she could still do many things for herself. And once she recovers she will be able to do those things again; taking care of her personal hygine, dressi
